Susanna's Baptism

Josh's racoon
After we found that skunk, Josh thought he would start proactively trapping.  The first night he set the live trap he caught this raccoon.

We went to Susanna's baptism.  I forgot to bring my camera to the church, but I got a bunch of pictures of everyone playing outside at Jake and Ruth's afterwards.

What a cutie
We had a good time at Jake and Ruth's.  It was a short weekend though, because we didn't have anyone to do chores and had to go home to make sure all was good.  Everything was fine when we came home.

Memorial weekend was split in two for us.  The first half was spent at Mom and Dad's working cattle and discussing our future plans of moving out there and selling chickens and CSAs.  We had a good time.  John and Olue love playing outside on the farm and seeing the cows.  Dad and Josh got pretty worn out working cows, but I think Dad was really happy to have the help.

On Sunday, Jared and Stacie came out.  The weather was cold, rainy, and windy, so we didn't do any major projects.  We hung out, and did a few small projects that have gotten pushed to the side lately.

Last week we had VBS at the church.  It went really well, but Josh and the kids missed having me at home in the evenings.  Johnny got to stay at VBS for the whole time the last day.  He was very happy to stay at the church with Mom.

VBS was my last big project as DRE.  Josh and I decided that I should be done working after the baby comes.  I'm looking forward to having less stress and more time at home.  I think John and Olue will like not having to run to the church all the time and I know I will like not having to bring a little baby to the church.  I'll miss parts of my job, but I'm looking forward to more free time this winter.  I already have projects in mind that I missed doing last winter....Yet with another baby I probably won't have that much extra free time.:)

My weekly ultrasounds and OB appointments are going well for me...Not for Lu Lu.  She hates going into town.  Especially if she gets to see Daddy for a little while and then he leaves.  She has been screaming/crying for about 1 hour average sometime during my weekly trips to Bismarck.  Today it was during the entire ride home.  Lu Lu and I will be very happy not going to Bismarck weekly after the Baby is born!

We have had 3 frosty nights in the past week.  We have some replanting to do and I'm not sure how many strawberries we'll get (they were all blooming).  The tomatoes weren't planted yet, so they're still okay.

We have a very busy weekend infront of us with all the extra gardening we'll have to do.  I better go do chores and get the house picked up before the kids get up and the busy weekend begins.

Strawberries
The strawberries were our project last weekend.  We weeded and pulled ALL of the straw back from the plants.  Josh and I both realized after this project that Mamma shouldn't work this hard again until after I'm recovered from having the baby.  I had way too many false contractions during and after this weekend project.

Skunk
We finally caught what had killed those 4 baby laying hens.  We're happy it wasn't a weasel like we had originally thought!

I've got lots more pictures of the garden and updates on what we've been doing in the gardens and with the chickens on our business blog www.logreenacrescsa.blogspot.com

I've started my weekly OB appointments with ultrasounds.  The baby is doing great, always scoring 8 out of 8.  We got to see some hair in this last one, so he/she definately won't be bald.  We're scheduled for June 22 c-section.  I hope it comes soon.  I feel very huge and tired.  Although the tired thing won't stop when the baby is outside, I'm looking forward to seeing my feet again.

Olue has been talking like crazy.  She can say almost every word that Johnny does.  She just doesn't know the exact meaning of all of them.  She can say potty and poop very clearly, but I still haven't gotten her to actually do it in the potty.  She also says "Mommy Go" when she's looking for anyone.  She doesn't like it when she and John take naps at different times.  She is constantly looking for Johnny saying "Mommy Go, Mommy Go".

Johnny has started to be a real big help.  He is helping Josh with the chicken chores now.  Josh was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to help him move chickens after the baby comes.  We'll still have chickens for two more weeks after baby.  But I haven't even been out there to help him the last two nights (getting Lu in bed and washing dishes and eggs after supper).  I have been replaced by a (almost) 3 year old!  It's so nice to have him helping and he loves doing it!

We have VBS next week at the church and even with all my previous prep work, I feel like I'm cramming to finish getting ready.  There was a large funeral at the church today (the third funeral for our priest in the last week...Crazy!), so I wasn't able to get anything ready there.  I have a mom coming to help me get some things set up tomorrow, so hopefully I'll feel more prepared after that.

Josh has been doing most of the chicken chores and gardening this spring.  He works crazy hard at it!  I wish I could help him more, but at this point it's best if I just keep the kids busy and out of the garden rows and chicken poop while he works.

I better go take a shower and get to bed!
